However, the strange tasks ordered by the monitors continually disrupt personal plans. The confusion increases when the same monitors stop hiding their conflicts, forcing each participant to assume an unexpected responsibility despite the consequences.

From the heavy heat of summer to the first snowflakes of winter, Hamwe follows the pivotal moments of Solange and Lisa's journey towards permanent residency. Together is an ode to the land of welcome that is Quebec, but also to the resilience of my mother and the millions of other political refugees and economic immigrants.

Helplessness and desperation reign and her own baby is a stranger to her. With every day that passes her inability to meet the demands of motherhood become more and more apparent. Unable to admit this to anyone, not even Julian, she falls into a deep darkness - to the point that she realises she is becoming a threat to her child. Now only unconditional love can bring her back on track…
