Rock is music for young people. Nick Rock-n-Roll, the protagonist of the film, doesn’t agree with it all. He’s 48 years old and as during his youth he still feels music deeply and looking for something special, unusual, which is out of stereotypes and mainstream. This film is about immersion in a world of new independent rock-music in Russia. Dipping into it Nick Rock-n-Roll remembers his own life, analyzing the nature of his passionate love to rock. His eternal search allows Nick not to feel his age that’s why it is necessary for him always to slake his thirst. Features four independent bands: Bosch's With You, Last Tanks in Paris (П.Т.В.П.), Deti Picasso, Salvador

The Analogues Perform The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour
In 1966, The Beatles become a pure studio band. Abbey Road Studio 2 will subsequently see an explosion of creativity and innovation in song writing and recording techniques the likes of which has never been seen. It will herald one of the most productive periods ever in the history of pop music. Revolver, Sgt. Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album, Let it Be and Abbey Road: these six iconic albums were recorded in the short space of five memorable years. But...they were never performed live. Until now! The Analogues perform all six of these albums in their entirety, precisely as the records were made at the time, using the same vintage instruments, amplifiers, sounds, live strings and horns. This is The Analogues performing the amazing Magical Mystery Tour. Recorded live at the Chassé Theatre, Breda, Netherlands.

The Analogues Perform Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Written in 1967, Sgt. Pepper’s was the world’s first concept album. The Beatles went into the studio, enthusiastically embracing the possibilities for experimentation that were blossoming at the time, and with no intention of playing the album live. Firstly, because they just didn’t feel like it (due to the hordes of screeching fans), but also because it was music that supposedly couldn’t be performed on stage, as it was too complicated. But that music just had to be played live at some point! Now The Analogues’ perform this masterwork live in all its analogue glory—an honor for which no effort has been spared with regards to a truckload of wild and wonderful vintage instruments. There’s a sitar and tabla drums for ‘Within You, Without You’, a rare Lowrey keyboard for ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’; a harp for ‘She’s Leaving Home’, plus, of course, a huge array of strings and horns. This is The Analogue’s quest to faithfully perform Sgt. Pepper’s live!

Many-many words have been written and a few ingenuous TV documentaries have been filmed about the great Russian rock band Auktyon (АукцЫон), which recently celebrated 30 years of playing music. Everything is completely different in the case of the film Encore: it took seven years for the director, Dmitry Lavrinenko, to make it; he needed just that amount of time to capture the wayward grace still preserved by Fyodorov, Garkusha, Ozersky and their associates. If you look behind the powerful music façade, you find not a story of a band but chronicles of a voyage aimed at incredible, incomparable music. Encore shows how the songs which are now known by heart were composed; it also shows things generally left aside: pieces of everyday life, tour diaries, conversations, including the key phrase: “You should not look at the liberty too much, you might feel dizzy.

A Band Called Death
Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was Death. Formed in the early '70s by three teenage brothers from Detroit, Death is credited as being the first black punk band, and the Hackney brothers, David, Bobby, and Dannis, are now considered pioneers in their field. But it wasn’t until recently — when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of Bobby’s attic nearly 30 years after Death’s heyday — that anyone outside a small group of punk enthusiasts had even heard of them.

Gatling Pictures' "Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story" examines the life and work of Mark Sandman, deceased frontman of Boston "low rock" band Morphine. From his Newton, Mass., roots to his travels across America and around the globe, Sandman left an indelible imprint as one of the most distinctive musicians of his generation. Along with revisiting the "unique and sultry sound" of his music, the film explores the meaning of family through this critically praised and personally conflicted singer, songwriter and innovative instrumentalist.
