Simon Talbot: Optur

add

2022

1h 11m

With the new show Optur, it's time to laugh and have a good time again, where Simon Talbot in his usual style transforms themes from his own life, such as hair loss, social media, cats, gaming, nose hair, Danish laws, the contrast of growing up with a Jehovah's Witness mother and Irish street boy father, married life, women's overly hot baths, and much much more, into jokes we can all laugh at. Over the past year, Simon has had stress reactions, spent too much time on social media, watched (way) too much Tiger King and acquired a sugar addiction, which he turns into a brand new Danish-language comedy show.

Simon Munnery: Fylm

Simon's back with an all new show based on his remarkable Fylm makking contraption, accompanied on the guitar by Mr David Willis. The show is his second live film (or Fylm) - rendered on the spot by a homemade device operated by Simon from the back of the room. With it, he manipulates his own image and that of various animation cutouts on the table in front of him to create his Fylm which is then projected onto a big screen at the front of the theatre. You will see what the audience saw as they sat and watched the show.

Being Bublé

A deeply unqualified man is inexplicably hired as a Michael Bublé impersonator for a rich stranger’s party. Despite no resemblance, no singing ability, and just one week to prepare, he gives it everything he’s got. A hilarious, oddly inspiring documentary about effort over ability and the joy of letting folks believe.

Dave Hughes: Ridiculous

While Melbourne was locked down, Dave Hughes was trending. He went viral during the pandemic and managed to get himself in trouble with pretty much everyone. Luckily, Hughesy is zen. He is at peace with the chaos he creates, knowing that from great turmoil comes even greater material. Hughesy has always attacked his comedy like a man with nothing to lose. A week hasn't gone by in the last 25 years that Hughesy hasn't done stand up, whether headlining an iconic theatre or jumping up at a tiny club. What has worried him that day becomes fodder for that night's material. To him, every audience is a great crowd and they should never forget that.
