Aya, an erotic writer, lives with her boyfriend, Hajime, a company employee. Recently, they have been a little bit growing apart, and she feels somewhat unfulfilled. That night, she is invited out for a drink by Tanaka, an editor whom she respects, and drinks deeply, losing consciousness. When she wakes up, she finds Tanaka in another room making intense love to a mysterious woman, Maria.

Sumire has been working at “Snack Akemi” for the past three years. After returning home from shopping, the owner, Goro, entrusted her with the preparations for opening the bar, and he lay down on a box seat and puffed on a cigarette. Three years ago, Sumire, who had been selling her body to make ends meet, was found huddled on the street with blood all over her face after she was caught trying to skim off a customer’s money. She was saved by Goro, who was passing by at the time.

Flags of Our Fathers

Sen no Rikyu (Ebizo Ichikawa) is the son of a fish shop owner. Sen no Rikyu then studies tea and eventually becomes one of the primary influences upon the Japanese tea ceremony. With his elegant esthetics, Sen no Rikyu is favored by the most powerful man in Japan Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Nao Omori) and becomes one of his closest advisors. Due to conflicts, Toyotomi Hideyoshi then orders Sen no Rikyu to commit seppuku (suicide). Director Mitsutoshi Tanaka's adaptation of Kenichi Yamamoto's award-winning novel of the same name received the Best Artistic Contribution Award at the 37th Montréal World Film Festival, the Best Director Award at the 2014 Osaka Cinema Festival, the 30th Fumiko Yamaji Cultural Award and the 37th Japan Academy Film Prize in nine categories, including Best Art Direction, Excellent Film and Excellent Actor.

To End All Wars

Based on a real-life story, this drama focuses on a small group of Allied soldiers in Burma who are held captive by the Japanese. Capt. Ernest Gordon, Lt. Jim Reardon and Maj. Ian Campbell are among the military officers kept imprisoned and routinely beaten and deprived of food. While Campbell wants to rebel and attempt an escape, Gordon tries to take a more stoic approach, an attitude that proves to be surprisingly resonant.
