Trois video haikus

A collection of three short “video haikus” by Chris Marker. Yanka / Tchaika observes the Seine beneath a bridge; Owl Gets in Your Eyes features Catherine Belkhodja with an owl superimposed in flight; and Petite Ceinture pays homage to the Lumière brothers by filming empty train tracks along Paris’s disused railway.

Prinzessinnenbad

A film about three teenagers - Klara, Mina and Tanutscha - from the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. The trio have known each other since Kindergarten and have plenty in common. The three 15-year-olds are the best of friends; they are spending the summer at Prinzenbad, a large open-air swimming pool at the heart of the district where they live. Death in the West

A documentary filmed by reporter Peter Taylor with interviews both of Phillip Morris executives and of cowboys in the American west. Taylor contrasts the executives' noncommittal answers to the question of cigarettes being harmful with the stories of men who smoked cigarettes and are now dying of lung cancer and emphysema. The film was removed from circulation after a lawsuit from Phillip Morris, but is now available to watch.
