The Sandman

One of several collaborative dance films by the Brothers Quay & (dancer, choreographer) William Tuckett. Little enough info around on line, but there's briefly by way of Wikipedia entry. Adapted rather loosely from the works of the E.T.A. Hoffman. Familiar Quays' tropes, much in evidence: automata, trompe l'oeil effects, etc. No credit on the sound design (which is fairly elaborate), tho' that is possibly Larry Sider.

Romeo + Juliet

In director Baz Luhrmann's contemporary take on William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, the Montagues and Capulets have moved their ongoing feud to the sweltering suburb of Verona Beach, where Romeo and Juliet fall in love and secretly wed. Though the film is visually modern, the bard's dialogue remains.

National Theatre Live: Three Sisters

The play tells a new original story that features characters from the Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight Re LIVE mobile game, featuring and primarily focused on the Edels and Junior High students of Siegfeld Institute of Music. It also features all three Seiran General Art Institute students, as well as Claudine Saijo from Seisho Music Academy, Fumi Yumeoji from Rinmeikan Girls School, and Shizuha Kocho from Frontier School of Arts.

"Pensées d'Alexandrie", "Bises du Caire" ... It's summer. They took their car, drove in coaches, flew in planes and visited camera in shoulder strap some distant country bristling with monuments and other "things to see", such as Egypt, Greece, India or Bordeaux. So as they are bored a bit far from their home sweet home, the Rouchon write to Brochon and vice versa - we are polite all the same! They send postcards not stung from the beetles. In these letters from the front of the leisure society, François Morel as a "melancholy mocker" has fun with often tender humor, sometimes biting, of this irrepressible need to change scenery to finally eye with a weary eye the pyramids and all those centuries that contemplate you while thinking of the evening meal (wine is free and at will) and the friends who have stayed in the country.

Highly experimental in nature that - like Marmite - will split its' crowd into ones that'll love it and others that'll loathe it. There's no middle grounds here. The topics included are: The Hungarian Olympians' doping scandal, political terrorism, the national elections... and more.

Austentatious - I Don't Think So, Sir

My dear friends, it's time for us to welcome you to another 'lost' Jane Austen novel. It's been improvised from start to finish by the amazing cast of Austentatious. The actors conjure up the story from nothing, backed by fully improvised lighting, soundtrack and, now I come to think about it, our camerawork too. This is the third time we have recorded Austentatious, this time as part of their residency at the Arts Theatre in London's glittering West End.

Harold Pinter: A Celebration
